There’s a push in New York to replace many of the taxi cabs with high fuel economy vehicle. But, I have to wonder how these cars are going to handle regularly carrying the weight of five adults. That’s going to run 1000+ lbs of weight, along with the constant use of the AC system, which is required when Temperatures run over 85 degrees.

How do you think high economy cars, like the Prius, will work as taxi cabs?

Considering the state of the economy, What price are you willing to pay for continued convenience?
Do you have cable? Could you do without it? Do you home cook your own food? Are you still buying processed foods? Are you choosing fast food over healthy food? Still buying bottled water? Do you drive your car or take public transportation? What do you do to conserve various types of energy? What do you suggest we do as a people to help the economy?

How does the cost of oil relate to the economy?
I have noticed that in todays economy, when there is a huge drop in the DOW, there is a also a drop in the price of oil. When the DOW goes up, so does the price of oil. How do these two elements relate to each other?
I personally think that the drop in oil is good, as we get gasoline cheaper. On the other hand, we need a stronger economy. The way I understand it is cheaper oil means lower operating costs of companies which means a stronger economy. But I dont understand why the drop in the DOW results in the drop in gas prices.

How has the bad economy affected your spending habits?
I am working on an article for a personal finance newsletter. I was wondering what real people are doing to brave the economy. Do you have any money-saving tips that may help other people. I’d prefer if your Yahoo preferences are set up to accept email. I may want to contact you for more information if i choose to use your answer. I’d appreciate your help. Thanks.

How does the economy work and how does our economy (US) effect foreign economies?
As the title says. In the simplest form, how does the US economy work.
Also, how does our economy effect foreign economies? (How does out financial crash cause other economies to follow suit?)
How is contraceptives going to help the economy?

What allows the US economy to stay afloat, regarding its mountain of debt?
I am curious as to what final leg(s) we are left standing on? Obviously our economy can be roughly translated as “debt”. As our ability to borrow dwindles, so goes our economy.
Obviously our economy was way overheated in the late 90’s. So now we are contracting; I saw an article comparing Japan of the late 80’s to our economy at its peak, and thought it’s not coincidental that roughly the same thing is happening in the US.
Of course our total outstanding national debt sits around $54-55 trillion(!) range.
How can we possibly function in this capacity?

How should a states economy effect a decision to relocate?
California’s economy is especially faulty now. If I were offered a job in Cali and were considering moving there, how should the current status of the economy effect my decision.
would a dismal economy substantially harm my ability to relocate. Or is there a sense that moving now might be akin to “getting in on the bottom floor”?
